The full stop is such an important and powerful\npunctuation mark that it has been incorporated into spoken English. When\ndumping a lover, you might say, \u201cI never want to see you again. Full stop.\u201d That\nmeans never, ever. The spoken full stop adds emphasis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The written full stop can do this too. On social media,\nsplitting phrases into one-word sentences is a popular way of making a point. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
